Used Mitsubishi Space Star

If there is one good thing about the Mitsubishi Space Star during its production run from 1999 through 2005, it is the fact that was a very reliable compact vehicle. But then again, reliability is just about the only thing that the Space Star could brag about because on the outside, it could definitely use a lot of revamping. Performance wise, the Space Star comes with a variety of engine choices. There is the 1.3L, which feels rather underpowered, and this is evident when you find it struggling at high speed. There is also the 1.6L, which is a better option compared to the 1.3L. Still, the 1.6L can get a bit struggling, much like the 1.3L. You also get the 1.9 DI-D engine, which is pretty much the latest diesel option in the range, and it the best suited to the used Mitsubishi Space Star. Steering presents not much of a problem, though it is not too inspiring either. You get decently obedient steering, and it does the job pretty fairly. Ride can become a bit problematic when you take it on rough tarmac. You would definitely feel a lot of bodyroll in the Space Star over rough roads. Driving around town remains pretty decent though. As for comfort, you get a lot of space in the front portion of the Space Star, with three adults seated at the back. The seats are quite comfortable – just perfect for that long journey ahead of you. Just do not make the mistake of having 4 adult passengers in the rear because having 3 is barely comfortable as it is. Noise levels are not really insulated so be prepared to handle much noise when driving at high speed. The Space Star does not really offer that much in terms of practicality, in that it lacks storage solutions. Rear loading space is not really adequate, particularly because the rear seats cannot be removed. They can be folded for extra space though, but it is always a better feature to have – removable rear seats, that is. The Mirage trim gets 3-point seatbelts, front electric windows, passenger airbags, alloy wheels, a basic radio/cassette player, and metallic paint. Equippe models get rear electric window, roof rails, ABS, and air conditioning. Driving position in both models is quite high so you get optimum visibility. The dashboard layout seems a bit off at times because some of the dials and knobs are placed in the oddest of positions. Security features include twin airbags and side airbags with the GLS trim. ABS is incorporated in all of the trims, except the entry-level 1.3i. The range also comes with an engine immobiliser, though you do not really get deadlocks and an alarm system.
